Marshall moved to Birmingham, Al in 1991 to continue his education at UAB where he received his B.S degree in natural sciences and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He enlisted in the Army National guard at the age of 17 and spent 6 years in the infantry and 4 years in the dental corp.
